Rightload - Official Forums / Re: RightLoad Error ! Please Help !
« on: March 19, 2008, 01:15:49 PM »
Could you download this file, save it to your Rightload directory and try again?

And please send me your _log.txt afterwards!

Under "Tools", "Options", "Advanced" there is an option called "Create log file". Please enable this option.

After this, do the thing that caused the error again. Click OK on the error message and then click "Help", "Open Temp Directory".

A directory should open with a file "_log.txt" in it. Please send me this file!

Thanks for the email!  :)

Rightload - Official Forums / Re: Resume feature?
« on: March 17, 2008, 07:51:43 PM »
Resuming uploads should be possible already. When a file you are trying to upload exists on the server, you get a dialog asking you what to do. One of the buttons in that dialog should be "Resume".

If this button is missing, your server probably does not support resuming.

Thanks for letting me know! Are you working on an 32bit or on an 64bit version of Vista?

So you are looking for an 'Overwrite if newer' option?

First of all, thanks for letting me know about the recommendation in the magazine! Unfortunately, I'm from Germany so I can't buy a copy myself. Do you think you could maybe email me a scan of the page?

About your suggestion - I'm not really sure if I understand you correctly, but when you select a server on the server management screen you can click on 'New Folder' and enter a folder name. This folder will then show up in the context menu and in the main window. You can also right-click the server and select 'Synchronize Directories' to get all the folders from your server and add them to the list.

Is that what you were looking for?

Rightload - Official Forums / Re: Some feature requests for making back-ups
« on: February 27, 2008, 08:21:25 PM »

I use  RL for making back-ups from my documents to my  DriveHQ account. For free accounts they have a upload limit of 50 MB per session (if someone knows a better password-protected FTP service, please let me know). That's why it would be useful if there is a adjustable upload limit within the account settings.
I may include something like this in the future, but right now I think only very few people would actually have a use for such a function. It would probably be easier if you just checked the file sizes yourself before you uploaded them.

Secondly, it would be very(!) neat if you can overwrite older files on the goal location by newer versions.
If a file already exists on the server, you will get a dialog asking you what to do. One of the options is to overwrite it.

The last feature I would like to suggest is to store the settings whether to create new folders or not within the account settings.
I will add this to the next version.

At the moment Rightload does not work with FTP proxies, but I will try to include proxy support in the next release!

Thanks for the suggestion! I will consider this for a future version.

I have been planning to add auto-sorting by extension anyway so maybe I could add this as well.

Since I still have no way of testing Rightload with Windows Vista, I would like to hear some of your experiences with Vista. Were you able to install Rightload? Did it run? Did the context menu extension work? Were there any other problems?

The more information you can give me the better! Screenshots would be great, too.

I've installed the new beta 4 manually, because your automatic update routine give an
error, if i quit the programm and the update begins:
I am very sorry for this problem, the automatic updater was not supposed to update to beta 4 already. I accidentally uploaded a file that had not yet been fully tested.

I fixed the updater a few minutes ago, so the file should be downloaded correctly now.

With the new beta 4 I've tried to upload via right click a file to the server
and stops the transfer during uploading. Error:

you wrote:
  • Fixed: Possible crash when upload is stopped

Sorry, not fixed at the moment:
Try to upload a file not from c:\, d:\, e:\, x:\ etc. directly
Test your upload with files for example in c:\folder1\folder2\folder3\example.gif , stops the transfer
during upload to reproduce the error.
Before I can work on this problem, it would be great if you could download and install beta 4 again, since the version you downloaded was not the final version. There might have been a few bugs in the "old" beta 4 since it wasn't supposed to be released yet.

Log files are not created (both logging options are activated)
Where did you look for them? In Beta 4, the log files will be created in your temporary RightLoad directory which you can find under Help -> Open Temp Directory.

PS: If you would prefer to write in German, feel free to contact me via e-mail or personal message!
